It was Douglas’ first loss of the young season after three straight wins.“They do a good job and we were playing at their place which is just a very unique environment,” said Douglas coach Cory Thacker, who played for Elko in his high school days. “The tradition there and just the atmosphere is pretty awesome.“It was a good place to play in terms of getting our kids some experience in a playoff type of atmosphere. You have to compliment what Elko did, but we didn’t help ourselves out either. We had some turnovers that shouldn’t have been there and didn’t have great decision making. Our lack of experience showed, but that is what the preseason is for.”Douglas’ Hunter Myers led the Tigers for the third consecutive game, scoring 17 points. Coach Nathan Tolbert said fatigue was an issue, especially in the fourth quarter when Lovelock pulled away.“That (fatigue) was a big factor,” Tolbert said. “We got very close in the fourth quarter. We got it to six, but we didn’t have enough legs at the end.”Carson did a good job on Condie in the first half, but the Senators had nobody that matched up well, and Condie exploited that in the final two quarters.“We got a lot of good looks, but couldn’t knock enough shots down,” Tolbert said. “We didn’t get too many second chances.
