If the new subscribers of the Appeal will put small wooden boxes on their doors or gates they would have less to complain about. If a door has no crack underneath it where the paper can be thrust, some man who is too close fisted to pay for his own, or the wind will take it away. A box cures this.

The Nevada Press has good attendance at their meeting in Reno. Phil S. Triplett of the Wells State Herald is Vice President and presiding officer. The next meeting will be in Carson where the newsmen will meet before the legislature starts.

The Union Pacific Railroad today announced the closing of the Sun Valley sports resort on December 20 for the duration of the war.

The 25th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Wilber D. Gordon was celebrated in the Washington Street home of Mr. and Mrs. Forrest A. Norton. Over 100 friends and family called to extend congratulations to the couple.

For the second year in a row, Nevada is on pace to dramatically reduce the number of fatal auto accidents on streets and highways.

Genoa Town Board members decide whether to keep the Sierra Starlight Amphitheater series at Mormon Station State Park. Residents launched a volley of complaints about the series. Organizers want to bring in larger names such as Bruce Hornsby and Bob Dylan.
