Investigators are still working on leads in the Dec. 11 shooting through the front door of Justice of the Peace John Tatro’s home.“Interviews are ongoing, and we’re tracking down each lead, no matter how trivial they are,” Sheriff Ken Furlong said.At 4:23 a.m. Dec. 11, Tatro called 911 to report that someone had shot into his house. Neighbors also heard the shots. Neither Tatro nor his wife was injured in the shooting. The bullets left two clean holes in Tatro’s heavy wood front door, traveled through the living room, through a sliding glass door and out to the yard where one bullet lodged itself in a fence, Undersheriff Steve Albertsen said. The Washoe Crime Lab is waiting on results from the one recovered bullet to determine what weapon it came from and its caliber.Judge Tatro said last week that he had been advised by counsel not to comment on the case but that he and his family are doing well.Security at the Carson City Courthouse has been increased, as well as for the judges. The extra security will continue until further notice, Chief of Alternative Sentencing Rory Planeta said. Anyone with information is encouraged to call the sheriff’s office at 775-887-2008 or Secret Witness at 775-322-4900.
