"I don't know what's gotten into Adan," Dayton coach Jason Santos said. "Being a senior, maybe he realizes time is running out. He is being aggressive and we've been running a lot of things through him.

"We played up and down. Our execution was up and down offensively. We didn't rebound very well."

Spanish Springs

stops CHS

SPARKS - Spanish Springs extended Carson's losing streak to 11 with a 50-34 victory over the Senators Tuesday night.

Carson is 1-12 with three games left in the season. Carson visits Wooster Friday at 7:30 p.m.

Carson led 9-4 after the first five minutes, but the Cougars went on an 18-0 run bridging the first and second periods to take control. The Cougars led by 10 at the half (24-14) and by 12 after three (39-27).

"They just did a better job against our zone," Carson coach Carlos Mendeguia said. "They found seams and started attacking our weak side. We didn't adjust and that opened up some things."

Menedguia said his team may have been suffering mental and physical fatigue after hard-fought losses to Hug, Galena and Douglas last week.

"Those were two (Hug and Douglas) physical and emotional games," Mendeguia said. "We may have come in a little tired. We certainly didn't take Spanish Springs lightly. In fact, I picked them to finish second in the league. They have Brandon DeLong who is one of the top three guards in the area."

DeLong finished with nine, as the Cougars' scoring was very spaced out.

Rafe King led Carson with 19 points and seven rebounds. Dylan Sawyers and Charlie Banfield finished with four apiece.

"We got the start down tonight, but we're still looking for four solid quarters," DHS coach Corey Thacker said. "The order was different. We got casual and went into coast mode, and Reno didn't give up."

Hunter Myers led Douglas with 18 while Jake Tessmann added 17.
