Today's Super Bowl should be one of the best in the 46-year history of the event. The Giants and Patriots are evenly matched, and many are saying that the team with hte ball last may win the game.
I like the Giants, 24-20, mainly because of their ability to pressure the passer using just their front four. At times, they can essentially line up four defensive end across the front, and that kind of speed can cause fits for offensive linemen. I'm just not convinced that New England's defense is that good, though Pats coach Bill Bellichick could be the most dangerous coach in the NFL when you give him more than a week to prepare for a team.
Will I watch? Most definitely, though I'm extremely bummed out that the 49ers missed a chance to put the finishing touches on their Cinderella season under first-year coach Jim Harbaugh.

I absolutely love Peyton Manning, but if I'm the Colts I either trade him or cut him because I don't think he's worth that big roster bonus. Let's face it, the guy is just one scary hit away permanent retirement and/or paralysis.
The Colts need to draft Stanford's Andrew Luck and give him a crash course on playing quarterback in the NFL. The Colts may be headed for another 2-14 season next season with Luck at the helm, but rookies have to start somewhere.
If there wasn't millions at stake in the Manning decision, I'm sure the Colts would keep him around for at least another year. However there really isn't that much time to make a good decision.
If Manning is cut, the Colts better pour some money into good offensive linemen and good defensive players. If they are going to pay Luck some big-time money they need to protect him.

Carson High is playing host to the upcoming 4A regional wrestling tournament which is being held on Friday and Saturday. Action is expected to get under way Friday around 3 p.m. and Saturday at 9 a.m.
A solid turnout of local fans could be enough to spur the Senators to a team championship. Coach Tim McCarthy believes that 10 of his wrestlers have a legitimate chance to advance to the state meet in Las Vegas.

I had a chance to listen to the talking heads on KNBR during my latest trip to California. It's one thing I truly miss about not living in California anymore.
They were talking about the Giants, and the one key player for next year. One of the hosts finally got it right - Buster Posey, who missed most of last year after being blasted by Reno's Scott Cousins in a collision at home. When Posey went down there was a big dropoff behind the dish, especially offensively. The Giants need both Posey and Aubrey Huff to rake the ball this year along with Pablo Sandoval. The trio will need to carry the team offensively.
With the addition of Melky Cabrera and Angel Pagan, expect the Giants to play some small ball. Cabrera and Pagan are good gap hitters with some speed. I like the idea of Ryan Theriot, who can play short and second. He is another guy who can steal a base for you.
