A possible grease fire gutted a manufactured home Friday morning at 2154 Columbia Way in Carson City.

Dispatch logs show a female called 911 just before 11 a.m. She told dispatchers that she was cooking french fries when the grease possibly caught fire. Her four dogs and two cats were inside. All were found safe after the fire was extinguished.

When Carson City firefighters arrived on scene, about 75 percent of the home was engulfed, incident commander Bob Charles said. Because of the style of home, he said, it is possible it will be declared a total loss.

He said 16 firefighters were on the scene, including some from the East Fork Fire District out of Douglas County.
