Winter is the perfect time for quilt-making, and those so inclined can put their talents to use by making and donating quilts for Madyson Stokes' Carson High School senior project.
Stokes said she has contacted several local organizations such as Advocates to End Domestic Violence and the Ronald McDonald House where she hopes to make the quilts available.
"I chose this project because I wanted to learn how to quilt, and I thought I could help at the same time. I've tied a couple, and I'm making one now to donate," she said.
Any baby- or child-sized blanket or quilt - tied or quilted - in new condition is welcome.
She said she has collected about 30 quilts so far, but would like to be able to gather even more before her March 31 deadline.
Quilts should be dropped off at Mill End Fabrics, 951 N. Stewart St. For more information, call the store at 883-0919.
