Dagen Kipling, 13, led the Carson Tigersharks in the pool during Sunday's State Championships at the Carson Aquatic Center.
Kipling was sixth in the 200 breast, clocking a 2:38.56. He also was part of Carson's 13th-place 400 free relay squad along with Jeremiah Hessig, Tallon Rauch and Tim Grunert. Kipling also placed 15th in the 200 individual medley, clocking a 2:21.70.
Grunert, a member of the Carson High squad, was 11th in the 200 breast with a 2:22.98. He was 32nd in the 200 IM and 49th in the 100 free.
Jesse Session, 12, was 13th in the 100 fly at 1:16.01 and 22nd in the 100 IM with a 1:18.48. He also swam a leg on the sixth-place 200 free relay squad along with Brett Kolb, Leonardo Miranda and Tristan Woslum. Reece Canfield, 12, was 26th in the 100 IM with a 1:19.67. He also swam a leg on the seventh-place 200 free relay team along with Robert Bush, A.J. Gutierrez and Christian Riley.
Tallon Rauch, 14, swam a leg on the 13th-place 400 free relay, finished 23rd in the 100 free at 59.65 and 33rd in the 200 IM at 2:33.47. Kolb, 11, was 20th in the 100 free at 1:09.13 and 31st in the 100 IM at 1:21.43.
Kaly Branco, 12, enjoyed a good day in the pool. She swam a leg on the 10th-place 200 free relay team (2:04) along with Blanca Sosa, Kaitlyn Nelson and Morgan Nelson. She was 13th in the 100 free with a 1:02.61 and 27th in the 100 IM with a 1:16.10.
Morgan Nelson was 37th in the 100 IM with a 1:18.54, while Kaitlyn Nelson was 21st in the 100 breast with a 1:28.14. Sosa was 22nd at 1:29.13.
In the 13-14 group, Christy Krahn was 17th in the 200 breast (2:59.28) and swam a leg on the eighth-place 400 free relay squad (4:28.21) along with Charlee Bradley, Stella Carroll and Cristina Saenz.
Bradley was 23rd in the 200 breast; Ashley Meyer was 13th in the 200 fly with a 2:47.61; and Carroll was 16th in the 200 fly with a 2:59.95. Meyer was on the ninth-place 400 free relay team with Bridgette McKnight, Daisy Perez and Samantha Hinton.
In the 15-18 group, Sophie Holmes was part of the ninth-place 400 free relay team (3:58.40) with Abi Pittman, Vanessa Rauch and Eli Everest. Holmes was 24th in the 200 breast (2:53.46) and 30th in the 100 free (59.41). Pittman was 22nd in the 200 fly (2:25.76) and 36th in the 200 IM (2:34.57).
Corrinne Defilippi, Alexandra Reid, Danielle Stanka and Amy Harrison finished 13th in the 400 free relay with a 4:44.60.
In the 8-and-under group, Amaya Mendeguia was ninth in the 25-yard backstroke. She was timed in 21.02. Mendeguia swam a leg on the ninth-place 100 free relay with Sophia Shepard, Chloe Vasquez and Sami Kolb.
Gillian Mandel was 20th in the 50 butterfly (42.61), 29th in the 50 breast (43.05) and 29th in the 100 breast (1:48.07). She also swam a leg on the 10th-place 200 free relay with Shea DeJoseph, Haylee Johnson and Brooke Gudmundson.
The quartet of Katon Graham, Hemanth Madduri, Gino Goggiano and Emiliano Miranda were fourth in the 9-10 200 free relay. Brennan Pott was 21st in the 9-10 50 back (45.77).
The meet concluded Monday night, and those results will be in Wednesday's Nevada Appeal.
