Panel to discuss closure of property near bridge at Carson River Canyon

Closure of city property to off-highway vehicles adjacent to the river at the Deer Run Road Bridge on the Carson River will be discussed when the Carson River Advisory Committee meets Monday.

The meeting starts at 5:30 p.m. in the Sierra Room of the Carson City Community Center, 851 E. William St.

Other items up for discussion or action include the completion of Mat Bogg's river bank stabilization and revegetation Eagle Scout Project on city property upstream from the Deer Run Road Bridge; an update on the status of Carson River Park; adoption recommendation of the Hydraulic Modeling and Flood Plain Mapping Guidelines for the Carson River; selection of a chairperson and vice chairman for the committee; and introduction of the newest committee member, Paul Pugsley.
