Female suffrage: The Senate Select Committee on the Rights of Woman, of which Senator Fair of Nevada is a member, gave a hearing to the members of the National Woman Suffrage Convention: "Resolved, that the committee are under obligations to the representatives of the women of the United States ... and they will give to the subject of woman suffrage that careful and impartial consideration which its grave importance demands."

120 YEARS AGO

Cool: Two young girls were traveling "out west." The train stopped and two ladies entered and took seats directly in front of them. The stout lady said, "I wish to converse with my friends and would like that seat. I am Mrs. President R - of this road." The girls stared and then one of them drawled: "Pleased to meet you. I am Mrs. President Harrison of Washington and the other girl said I am Mrs. Queen Victoria."

70 YEARS AGO

On vacation: Director Jimmy Vincent of Paramount Pictures and A. Cooke, sound technician are spending a couple of days in Carson with John Nulty. They have been working on "The Remarkable Andrew" which will be available to distributors in the near future.

50 YEARS AGO
