Tammy Molthap-Maattala, 48, was arrested early Saturday on charges including domestic battery and assaulting her husband with a pair of scissors.
Larry Maattala told deputies that she had cut his brother Nathaniel's face with the sharp stones on her wedding ring and tried to hit him in the face with a weapon. The boyfriend of Molthap-Maattala niece's identified the weapon as a pair of scissors and said she had acted as though she was going to stab the victim, but then stopped.
Deputies said that the woman was intoxicated and that witnesses told them she had been drinking several hours before the argument with her husband.
She was charged with misdemeanor domestic battery and felony assault with a deadly weapon. In addition, she was booked on a parole and probation violation, also a felony.
Total bail was set at $28,000 on the two original charges. The parole-probation violation is a no-bail hold.
