Kenneth Carlson, 51, was arrested on burglary charges just before 7 a.m. Monday when he was spotted exiting the Iglesia Apostolica church on Jeanell Drive.

Deputies were dispatched to the church because the burglar alarm went off. According to the arrest report, Carlson was spotted exiting the glass double doors of the church.

When the deputy ordered Carlson to stop, Carlson instead ran around the north side of the church and headed west. But his path was blocked by a chain-link fence. At that point, according to the report, he surrendered, saying "you got me."

Examining the church, officers found a window next to the church door was broken and the door to the pastor's office kicked in.

Carlson was charged with burglary and obstructing an officer. Bail was set at $25,000.
