Steven M. McClung, 61, passed away January 26, 2012 in his home, after a brief illness. He was born in Clarksburg, WV to Howard and Alice McClung. He was a proud Vietnam Veteran, and has been a resident of Carson City since 1998. For the past ten years, Steven owned Alpine Lock with his wife, Joan, and his son, Christopher, who will continue to run the business together.
Steven loved talking to people and really enjoyed running for mayor of Carson City in the last election. His stories and jokes never failed to make you laugh. His favorite activities were going on camping trips with his family, watching football, and playing Hearts on the computer.
Preceding Steven in death was his father, Howard A. McClung, and his nephew, Steven P. McClung.
He will be sadly missed by his wife of 33 years, Joan; mother, Alice McClung of Dayton, NV; daughter, Brooke (Rob) Minik of West Allis, WI; daughter, Sarah (Joel) Bates of Livermore, CA; son, Christopher (Brittany) McClung of Carson City, NV; sister, Patricia (Michael) Roe of Hurricane, UT; brother, Christopher (Susan) McClung of Kingman, AZ; sister, Sherry (Richard) Lusty of Dayton, NV; two loving grandchildren (Navi and Noelani); two nieces, four nephews, and ten grand nieces and nephews.
No services will be held. There will be a private viewing for family, and cremation will be entrusted to Autumn Funerals & Cremations in Carson City. 775-888-6800
