Joseph Tant Welch, 88, of Carson City, passed away peacefully at home with his family June 30, 2012.
Joe was born March 30, 1924 to Joseph and Annie Welch in Throckmorton, Oklahoma. He married Virginia Webb November 14, 1948, in Galveston, Texas,
Joe was an U.S. Army veteran who served both in World War II, and the Korean War. He was discharged with honors, and settled in El Centro, California, where he worked for the United States Gypsum Company for 36 years.
After his retirement, Joe moved to Carson City to be closer to his only daughter, Linda Sue Hurzel, her husband John, and his two grandsons, Joey and Jeffery.
Joe is preceded in death by his mother in 1963 and father in 1970. Also preceding Joe were his four siblings, L.A. Welch, Gladys Hamilton, Vonceal Stroope, and Leatrice Herring.
His wife, Virginia; daughter, Linda Hurzel, and grandsons Joey and Jeffery as well as numerous nieces and nephews survive Joe.
A graveside service is scheduled for Friday, July 6, 2012, at 2:00 pm at Walton's Carson Gardens Cemetery.
