Obituary: Clara Margaret Keirstead

Clara Margaret Keirstead, 88, a Carson City resident since 1977, passed away at her home on July 17, 2012. She had previously lived in Granada Hills, CA, and was a Catholic. Clara married Frederick L. Keirstead in Southern California in 1944. She enjoyed crocheting, crossword puzzles, and made teddy bears. She also enjoyed bowling, reading and playing scrabble. Clara retired from Bentley, and was also a long time volunteer at the Senior Center and Sheriff's Dept. She was also a Raider's Boosters.

Clara is preceded in death by her husband, Frederick; brothers, John and Jack; and sisters, Emma and Alice. She is survived by son, David Keirstead, of Carson City, NV; daughters, Janet L. Price of Carson City, NV and Barbara McIlveen of Sacramento, CA; 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, August 5, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at the Unity of the Sierra Church, 110 E. Ann Street, Carson City. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the American Lung Association, 10615 Double R Blvd., Reno, NV 89521. FitzHenry's Funeral Home and Crematory is caring for arrangements.
