Change Companies announces promotions

The Change Companies has named Frankie Lemus senior vice president and Shane Newsome as senior vice president of Operations.

Lemus is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and a Drug and Alcohol Counselor and Supervisor. He is the liaison to the national research community, he ensures the effective integration of evidence-based strategies in all of The Change Companies' programs and curricula. He has contributed his clinical oversight to more than 50 of The Change Companies' curricula in the substance abuse, offender treatment, impaired driving and health-improvement fields in the past nine years.

Newsome has directed web and video production and overseen warehousing, distribution and shipping operations for the Change Companies for past 10 years. His team has led The Change Companies into the digital realm, creating new possibilities for training and programming delivery.

The Change Companies also promoted Scott Provence, writer and director of Project Management, and Du Anne Young, director of Special Projects, to the role of vice president in their respective fields. Susan Peterson was named Senior Editor.

Carl E. Heard named medical director at Saint Mary's

Carl E. Heard has been named medical director of Saint Mary's Health Plans. Dr. Heard has more than 25 years of clinical and medical management experience including University Medical Center in Las Vegas, Valley Health Systems in California and most recently, Carson-Tahoe Regional Healthcare.

Dr. Heard is a graduate of the Medical University of South Carolina and completed his residency in family practice medicine at the University of California, Irvine. He also holds a master's degree in medical management from the University of Southern California, Marshall School of Business.
