Francis D. "Bill" Flamm, 88, passed away on June 3, 2012 from injuries sustained in a fall in the garden he so loved.
Bill enlisted in the Navy at 17 and served aboard the USS Baltimore from the laying of her keel until the end of World War II and he never lost his love of the sea and sailing.
He is survived by his wife, June; daughters, Melanie Peters of Phoenix, Julie Grayson (Bob) of Carson City; and sons, Joseph of Gardnerville, John (Kathy) of Sparks, Kevin (Nancy) of Ventura, CA, and Anton "Tony" of Carson City, 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Bill created successful businesses in California and Northern Nevada, the last being Carson Vacuum & Sewing.
He never forgot a friend, his word was his bond, and he never asked for more than he gave.
A celebration of his life will be held Sunday, June 17, 2012 at 1:00pm at Glen Eagles Restaurant.
