The Nevada National Guard is hosting a Flag Day ceremony and 237th birthday celebration of the Army at 10 a.m. today at the old Assembly Chambers on the second floor of the Capitol Building.
Command Sgt. Maj. James Richardson, 421st Regional Training Institute, will speak about Flag Day and the flag.
Staff Sgt. Kenny Dupree, the president of the Noncommissioned Officers Academy Graduates Association, will preside over the Operation Patriotism five-flag presentation, conducted by the association's honor guard. The Nevada Army Guard NCO of the year, Staff Sgt. Larry Harlan, will deliver the Army birthday message.
The event is open to the public.
