The Enterprise yesterday has an article regarding the estate of Ira S. Parke, a gentleman well known in this city: It appears that Lyman C. Parke, in looking over papers belonging to the estate of his brother, found a life insurance policy. Observing that no premiums had been paid on it for eight years, he was about to destroy the policy, but decided to inquire about it when he fount it was still good for over $2,000, which has been paid.

Abe Cohn has departed for Tahoe City, where he will spend the week at the curio shop with his wife. Mr. Cohn annually ships some of his best specimens of Indian baskets to this point where tourists from over the world have a chance to inspect them. Many a basket is on its way to a rich man's home as a result of Abe Cohn.

Joseph F. McDonald Jr., of Reno is alive and held prisoner by the Japanese in Shanghai, according to a telegraph sent to the youth's parents by Senator McCarran. Early accounts on Wake Island listed young McDonald as killed while fighting. McDonald, engaged in construction on the island, was a correspondent for the United Press.

Bill Woerner, newly elected president of the Carson City chamber of commerce, was given presidency Wednesday by outgoing president Robert (Bob) Rigler.

Young citizens are named to the Carson City Chamber of Commerce annual community service awards. Named are Melissa Gilbert, Emily Keller, Macie McCurdy, Sandra Stora and Sharon Stora.
