Lula May Kendall, 99, passed away February 29, 2012 in Carson City, NV. Lula was born September 1, 1912 in Silver City, NV to Alexander and Lena Armstrong. Lula was as lifelong resident of Silver City, attending grade school in Silver City then High School in Dayton, NV graduating in June 1930. She was the Postmaster in Silver City from 1933 to 1937. In 1949 Lula went to work for the State of Nevada at the Department of Motor Vehicles retiring in 1980. She was a member of the Eagles Lodge #1006 Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed gardening, embroidery and crocheting.
Lula was preceded in death by her husband, William Kendall who passed away in 1955. They were married in 1934.
She will be dearly missed by her three children, son, Marius Kendall (Iris); daughters, Sharron Johnson (Milt) and Ila White (Jerry); six grandchildren, Barbara Blonker (Dennis), Gary Johnson (Barbara), Ted Kendall (Robin), Eric Kendall (Karen), Beth Wright (Brandon) and Cyndee Witthaus (Robert); nineteen great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren; one God daughter, Lois Uhalde, confidant, Fred Swanson and soulmate, Mary Winkler.
There will be a visitation for Lula Thursday, March 8, 2012, 6:00 to 8:00pm at Walton's In Carson City. Graveside services will be on Friday March 9, 2012 at 3:00pm at Lone Mountain Cemetery. Then there will be a memorial service for Lula March 31, 2012 at 11:00am at the Silver City Community Center.
