The Bureau of Land Management, Winnemucca District, Humboldt River Field Office has issued a Decision Record selecting the Shamrock Communications Inc. Rights-of-Way Project with special stipulations. The ROW grants to Shamrock are imminent and will complete approval of the project.
The Shamrock Communications ROW Project is a 1,469-foot tower with a beacon that includes a transmitter building, an electrical-distribution line and road access. The project involves 67 acres of public lands located about 22 miles northeast of Fernley in the Jessup area north of Interstate 80 in Churchill County.
Shamrock recently purchased several radio licenses allowing it to serve portions of several Northern Nevada counties. The service area covers a 75-mile radius from the site, reaching portions of Churchill, Lyon, Pershing, Humboldt and Washoe counties.
The environmental assessment, the DR, and the finding of no significant impact are available on the BLM Winnemucca website at www.blm.gov/nv/st/en/fo/wfo.html.
Copies of the documents also are available at the Winnemucca District Office at 5100 E. Winnemucca Blvd. from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, except federal holidays.
