Candelaria: Chris Zabriskie who left here to take a position in the bank at Candelaria was scarcely there two hours when a man standing three feet away from him was shot down. Chris made a beeline for a place of safety and when asked how many shots had been fired, he replied not even one. In Candelaria it does not matter much to them whom they hit, once they start out to shoot.

Radios returned: Japanese, German, and Italian aliens who have deposited short wave radio receiving sets may have these sets returned after the short-wave apparatus has been removed. The radio sets must be modified while still in the possession of the law officers. Full information concerning the release of radios deposited by enemy aliens can be obtained from all police departments.

John Belushi, comic actor, died of an overdose of heroin and cocaine. Belushi, a comedian, sky-rocketed to fame on "Saturday Night Live."

Carson-Tahoe Hospital Auxiliary's eighth Annual Cowboy Jubilee and Poetry event at the Carson City Community Center features buckaroos and barbecue with musician and poet Sourdough Slim.
