Linda Lue Shrode was born on July 1, 1947 in Hutchinson, Minnesota. She was the daughter of John C. and Bernice (Hagen) Bahr. Linda was baptized as an infant in the Lutheran faith in Hutchinson, Minnesota, and later confirmed her faith at Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church in Comfrey, Minnesota.
Growing up she received her education at a Comfrey, Minnesota rural country school and high schools of Comfrey and New Ulm, Minnesota. She graduated from New Ulm High School in 1965.
On October 16, 1975, Linda was united in marriage to Douglas Kenneth Shrode in Black Duck, Minnesota. This marriage was blessed and made a family with their daughter, Rhonda Kay.
They made their home in Hutchinson and Litchfield, Minnesota until they moved to Carson City, Nevada in 1986.
Linda held employment through the years at 3M, HTI and LPC in Minnesota, as well as a real estate agent and an accountant in Nevada. This prepared her to be Doug's partner in their independent business, EDMAC, in 1992. Linda was the "left" hand of the machine shop business where she did many jobs. Linda and Doug enjoyed building their business together and the friendships these years brought them.
Linda enjoyed bowling with both her Nevada and Minnesota friends, especially all the trips to Nationals. Her hobbies included reading, solving the Sunday crossword puzzle, scrapbooking and card making. Together Linda and Doug enjoyed competitive pistol shooting, as well as their many road trips in their vintage Porsche.
Linda loved visiting her family in Minnesota and just spending time with relatives, playing with her granddaughters, cards, dominoes and guitar hero. Of course, taking pictures of all this for her scrapbooks.
She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother with a wonderful sense of humor, who loved to laugh and choose the sunny side of life, even through her years of battling cancer.
Linda always had 2 dogs by her side and they brought her both comfort and joy.
Linda passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 11, 2012 at their home, surrounded by her family.
Blessed be her memory.
