RENO - The Carson High girls track team won a three-way meet against Wooster and Reed Saturday at Wooster High School.
Carson finished with 86 points, while Reed was second with 61 and Wooster had 40. On the boys' side, Reed won with 92 points, Carson was second with 69 and Wooster had 25.
Kaitlyn Holmes (400, 65.3), Alex Drozdoff (1600, 5:53), Erica Sosa (3200, 12:54), Sabrina Ronato (long jump, 14-5), Elena Thurman (triple jump, 32-3 1/2), Maddie Preston (high jump 4-8), Makayla Ragnone (shot put, 29-5 1/2) and Ali Fleming (discus, 87-0) all won individual events for the Senators.
Courtney Hack was second in the shot put and discus (29-0 and 81-8), Maddi Saarem was second in the pole vault (9-6), Kayla Aikins was second in the 400 (66.0), Preston was second in the triple jump (31-9), Cindy Juchtzer was second in the 3200 (13:27) and Thurman was second in the 100 (12.9).
Corey Reid and Stefan Sobkiewicz won two events each to lead the Carson boys.
Reid won the high jump (5-8) and the 400 (53.3), while Sobkiewicz won the long jump (19-11) and the 110 high hurdles (17.8).
Taylor Bradshaw won the 800 in 1:59.8, which qualifies him for the prestigious Arcadia Invitational later this spring. Cameron Price won the triple jump with an effort of 39-11.
Price was second in the high jump at 5-8, while Joey Thurman was second in the 300 intermediate hurdles at 46.6. Porfirio Jauregni was second in the 3200 at 11:34 and Andrew Cowan was second in the 400 at 55.2. Nathan Hazard was second in the discus at 131-6.
