Edward Frank Kiel Jr. passed away Monday, March 19, 2012, at the young age of 53. He was born in Chicago, Illinois. He was the oldest of three children; his siblings were his brother Ronald Kiel and sister Antoinette Weaver. He lived and grew up in Illinois until he was old enough to join the army. He was in the army for 14 1/2 years.
In 1986, Ed met his wife, Joyce, at the poolside in Tucson, Arizona. They married later that year and had a happy marriage for 25 years. They made homes together in Mesa, Arizona and later in Gardnerville, Nevada. Their family includes two daughters: Jennifer Lynn Shultheis (1982) and Ashley Dawn Kiel (1987); son-in-law Jason Kenworthy; and grandson David Charles Scott Kenworthy.
He was honorably discharged in 1993 as a Military Police Staff Sergeant.
His favorite hobbies included fishing, camping, toy trains, and photography. He passed on his keen eye for photography to his daughter.
