On May 2 at approximately 4:10 p.m., the Nevada Highway Patrol was dispatched to an injury accident on US 50 East approximately 4 miles east of Carson City.

The preliminary accident investigation details indicate that a 2009 Black Lexus driven by Kenneth Woolsey Isaac a 48-year-old Zephyr resident, was traveling westbound on US 50 when for unknown reasons crossed over into the eastbound lanes striking a 2005 Chevrolet Equinox driven by Gustavo Galindo Cordova a 83-year-old Silver Springs resident. Mr. Isaac was transported via care flight to the Reno Renown Medical center where he was admitted. Mr. Cordova was taken to the Carson Tahoe Hospital by ground for non life threatening injuries.

A medical reason is being looked at for possibly being the cause of the accident.
