Citizen panel to weigh special-event funds

Carson City's Redevelopment Authority Citizens Committee on Monday will discuss and possibly recommend to the Board of Supervisors a move to allocate special-event funding from the Redevelopment Revolving Fund.

Also to be discussed are the criteria by which applications for redevelopment special-event funding are reviewed and the possible role of the Cultural Commission in reviewing those requests. The committee also will hear a presentation on the redevelopment budget by Carson City Finance Director Nick Providenti.

• The Carson City Audit Committee meets at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the Sierra Room of the community center.

The committee will discuss its responsibility for the adequacy of city department and office performance measures for internal audits. The responsibilities could also include requiring the committee to oversee the internal auditor's creation and implementation of processes to prevent fraud, waste and abuse. • The Carson Area Metropolitan Planning Organization meets at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Sierra Room of the community center.

The organization will discuss and take action on an analysis of travel on the Carson City Freeway, the Nevada Department of Transportation's work program, CAMPO's work program and a letter from CAMPO regarding pending federal transportation legislation. • The Carson City Regional Transportation Commission meets immediately after CAMPO on Wednesday in the Sierra Room of the community center.

The commission is scheduled to discuss and take possible action on an agreement for the Hells Bells Road pedestrian project, an overview of fixed route management technology, to rescind the commission's April action regarding the maintenance of a section of Sierra Vista Lane, to determine the level of maintenance responsibility for a portion of that street, and to appoint RTC Vice Chairman Jim Mallery to represent the RTC on the Tahoe Transportation District and Tahoe Transportation Commission. • The Carson City Historic Resources Commission meets at 5:30 p.m. Thursday in the Sierra Room of the community center.
