Temperance: "Needles," the bibulous tragedian is at Bodie and sworn off drinking delivering a temperance lecture to impress his hearers with the sincerity of his reformation. He interluded his lecture with side remarks not complimentary to his fellow citizens which necessitated his hurried departure through a rear door.

All sorts: Four Virginia sports ran into J. H. Tilton's buggy on Geiger grade throwing R. Tilton and his aged wife to the ground rendering Mrs. Tilton unconscious. Their buggy was shattered.

Sture Svensson: The only bid received by the Ormsby county commissioners for the construction of a a hangar at the airport was submitted by Sture Svensson for the sum of $4,333.

Frog jumping: Governor Grant Sawyer accepted a challenge to enter a Nevada frog in the Jumping Frog Jubilee at Angels Camp, Calif.,... The annual celebration feature of the fair has grown from Mark Twain's famous story, "The Celebrated Jumping Frog of Calaveras." Nevada's jumping champion is scheduled to meet hoppers from other states and foreign countries in a Governors division of the contest.
