A hornet's nest: A pair of old trousers were hanging up in Hymers' stable when an Indian came along and asked the proprietor for the abandoned garment. He was happy for fifty yards, but then let out a whoop and bellow with a score or two of enraged hornets after him. A nest of insects had been built in the breeches. He will eat his grub off a high table for some time. (Reno Gazette)

Miss Betty Harvey to wed John Blaikie. Miss Betty Harvey, elder daughter of Rev. and Mrs. J. L. Harvey of Carson City will become the bride of Mr. John Francis Blaikie of Whittier, California.

Bonanza Day with the Cartwrights: The chimerical Cartwrights are riding into Virginia City for a spirited three-day fiesta. Governor Grant Sawyer and Nevada dignitaries will be on hand for a major parade and presentation of special awards for the Bonanza stars.
