Marilyn O. Waller passed away on Nov. 6, 2012 at Renown Hospital in Reno, Nev. at the age of 82, with her family at her bedside. She was born in Lucas, Iowa. She was the only child of A. Oral Peterson and Mildred L. Sinclair Peterson. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Richard "Dick" Waller. She is survived by her daughter, Judy and husband, Mike Walsh of Carson City; daughter, Terri Respess of Carson City; stepson, Michael and wife, Dana Waller of San Antonio, Texas; grandchildren, Kelly and wife, Bobbie Fernandez of Rialto, Calif., Charlie Fernandez of Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., Kayla Waller of San Antonio, Texas, Dylan Waller of San Antonio, Texas, Christina Nevarez of Killeen, Texas; and four great grandchildren, along with many other family members and friends.
Marilyn graduated from Oakland Tech High School in Oakland, Calif. in 1948, where she was known for her love of dancing and sailors. She worked teaching ballroom dancing while in high school. Later she worked for Pacific Telephone and retired from Charter Oak School District in So. Calif. in 1995 (where she was known as "Precious"). She loved people, animals, and camping with family and friends.
Marilyn, along with her husband, Dick, built a home in Fish Springs where they retired. She later moved to Carson City after Dick's death.
She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She will be put to rest on Wednesday Nov. 14, 2012 at 11 a.m. at a graveside service at Eastside Memorial Park in Minden, Nev. Reception to follow at her home in Carson City.
