Charles Heimerdinger, 81, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2012 in Carson City, Nev. He was born on July 19th, 1931 to Arthur and Aileen Heimerdinger in Chicago, Ill. He spent his early life in Highland Park, Il. and in the midwestern states. Later he settled in the west where he resided until his death. He earned several degrees from various universities including a PHD in History of Theater. He served two years in the US Air Force as a 2nd Lieutenant and was stationed in Germany. Charley was a devoted husband, father, brother, teacher, and good friend. He enjoyed outdoor life including fishing and hunting. He especially liked spending time with his family, winning at the casinos, movies, theater, playing the harmonica and going to the races! Charley is preceded in death by his wife, Linda; his parents; maternal grandparents, John F. and Margaret Case; and numerous extended family members. Survivors include his sister, Judy Sloan of Rochester, Minn.; Children: Charles Heimerdinger (Sheri) of Reno, Nev., Christopher Heimerdinger (Emily) of Draper, Utah and Carlyn Blake (John) of Boise, Idaho; 10 grandchildren: Steven, Cody, Shane, Ammon, Savannah, Sariah, Thomas, Lia, Angelina, and Hunter; niece, Jennifer Sloan Lattis (Jim) and two nephews, John Sloan and Jeffrey Sloan (Liz). A memorial service is planned for Dec. 2 at 1 p.m. at Fitzhenry's Mortuary in Carson City, Nev. If desired, a memorial gift may be made to the American Lung Association at www.lung.org
