Paul Verebely of Carson City, passed away after a battle with cancer. Paul was born in Phoenix, Ariz. to Bill and Nell Siglin. Paul grew up in southern Calif. and loved the outdoors. He join the Navy in 1980, his first tour was on the USS Nimitz where he worked as an airframe crew member. On Oct. 31, 1980 Paul met the love of his life Meike in Wilhelmshaven, Germany. After staying in touch over the next four years they married July 7,1984 in Reno, Nev. After the birth of their two daughters, Nadja and Meike, Paul and Meike found their way to Alaska where they spent nearly seven years enjoying the rustic life around Sutton, Wasilla & Palmer. Paul & Meike move to Carson City, Nev. in 1996. Paul was a simple man. He loved his family and counted his daughters and grandson Max as his greatest joy in life. He also loved fishing and camping. One treasured ritual was an annual hike around Spooner Lake every year with his family. Paul is survived by his wife, Meike; daughters, Nadja and Meike; grandson, Max; brothers, Roger, Jim, and Pat; nieces, Alishia, Terra, and Sarah; nephew, Cody; and stepfather, Julius. He is predeceased by his parents; grandparents, Paul and Ruby Hutcheson, and half brother, Tim Verebely. A celebration of life will take place Saturday Nov. 17, 2012 at 400 Tahoe Drive in Carson City at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, a scholarship fund is being established for grandson, Max at Bank of America.
