130 Years AgoFire: The residence of W. D. Tobey on Spear street was burned to the ground together with private and household effects. The origin of the fire is unknown. The fire department arrived with the Currys getting on the first team taking water from the hydrant near Mr. Yerington's house on Robinson Street. The Warrens arrived at nearly the same time and attached to a hydrant near Bliss' house. The fireman were blamed for allowing the flames to gain such headway...
