Charles “Chuck” Woolard, 74, passed away October 9, 2012 in his home in Carson City, Nev. Chuck was born December 6, 1937 in Beaufort County, N.C. to John and Annie Woolard. Chuck proudly served four years in the U.S. Navy as an electrician’s mate. He was employed with Western Electric which later became AT&T as a manager for twenty-seven years. He was especially proud of working as a site manager with AT&T at the 1984 Olympics at Pepperdine University in Calif. Chuck was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; and a daughter, Laura Christine. He is survived by his loving wife, Linda. They were married April 18, 1964. He also leaves behind one son, John Woolard (Erin); and one daughter, Teri Kiapos (Bill); brothers, Archie Woolard (Candace) and Larry Woolard; a sister, Elizabeth Ann Woolard; four grandchildren, Krysta Kiapos, Alexander Kiapos, Emily Nourse and Sara Woolard; and three great grandchildren, Juliette, Jazmine and Tommy. There will be a visitation for Chuck Wednesday, October 17, 2012 starting at 10:00am, then his funeral service will begin at 11:00am at Walton’s Chapel in Carson City, Nev. Burial will follow with military honors at Lone Mountain cemetery also in Carson City, Nev. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Carson Tahoe Cancer Resource Center at 1535 Medical Parkway, Carson City, NV 89703.
