At the meeting of the Democratic Committee in Virginia, R. Sadler of Eureka was tendered the position of State Treasurer. Sadler declined, saying business wouldn't enable him to move to the Capitol. Managers said all he needed was to hire a deputy to do the business at hand. Sadler then accepted. The law makes it obligatory not only to have the state treasurer's office here, but he must reside here. Thus, if Sadler wants the job, he must abandon his flourishing business in Eureka for a paltry salary and slight honor of being state treasurer.

Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Robert spent yesterday at Washoe Lake and reported an ideal fishing day. They caught in the neighborhood of 500, which is the limit.

Voters will go to the polls Nov. 3 with only one question to vote on since the fish and game initiative has been withdrawn. Question No. 1 will make it so tough to impose an income or inheritance tax that even the most determined legislator will give up before starting.

Family and friends gathered a the home of Mr. and Mrs. A.G. Drennon to help the couple celebrate their 73rd wedding anniversary. Five generations were present at the celebration. They have six children, 18 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

The state Board of Examiners agrees to rent three buildings at the closed Nevada Children's Home to Carson City for use as a youth and family services center as a new boys and girls club.
