The third annual Boo Bash is gearing up to host trick-or-treaters one day early.
To be held from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Lake Side Properties, 3250 Retail Drive. This year's event will offer safe Halloween activities and the opportunity to contribute to local causes.
While serving hot cocoa and distributing treats, the office also will be collecting new or gently used coats to be donated locally this winter. The business serves as a food bank drop-off location, so the public is encouraged to bring non-perishable foods.
The coat drive will amass as many coats as possible in conjunction with the charity Warm Coats, Warm Hearts to be dispensed through FISH.
"It's a safe place to bring kids the night before Halloween to test costumes and give back if you have a coat you've outgrown," said Lake Side Properties owner and event organizer Kimberly Seifert.
The event will feature Halloween activities ranging from face painting to sword fighting and tarot card and palm reading. A costume contest for children will begin at 7 p.m. There will be live music and children I.D. kits on hand.
The event shows "small offices can give back in a big way," Seifert said.
Each year, Lake Side Properties chooses one charity to promote throughout its Halloween festivities. Last year, the event benefited Food for Thought.
