Three people have been arrested in the investigation into two burglaries on Wildrose Drive between Aug. 19 and 23, the Douglas County Sheriff's office reported.
Detectives were able to tie the suspects to possession of the estimated $40,000 in property taken in the burglaries, much of which has been recovered, sheriff's spokesman Sgt. Jim Halsey said.
Arrested were Minden resident Justin Turek, 30, and Reno resident Melanie Gurule, 30. Turek is in custody on charges of possession of stolen property, and two counts of possession of a stolen firearm. His bail is set at $50,000.
Gurule, who is also known as Anelo, was arrested and is in custody in the Washoe County Jail on charges stemming from pawning of property believed to have been taken in the burglaries. Gurule is being held on charges of burglary, possession of stolen property, and obtaining money by false pretenses. Her bail is set at $30,500.
Gardnerville resident Ryan Hiltz, 28, an associate of Turek and Gurule, is also believed to have been involved, the sheriff's office said. Detectives took Hiltz into custody after they contacted him in the investigation. Hiltz was booked into the Douglas County Jail on charges of possession of stolen property, ex-felon in possession of a firearm and two counts of possession of a stolen firearm. His bail is set at $50,000 cash only.
Detectives are continuing their investigation.
