Carson High's boys tennis team dropped a 10-8 decision to Wooster in a Sierra League match Thursday at Carson.
The match was tied at 3 after the first group of matches, but the Colts outscored Carson 7-5 over the next two rounds to grab the win.
Carson dropped to 2-3.
Casey Reid and Mathew Boggs lost 6-3 in their first set, but rebounded to win 6-0 and 5-2 (retired). Jake Jones, Josh Breen and Aaron Woodbury posted wins in singles. Kyle Kunz and Spenser Pringle, Jace Zampirro and Trevor Sollberger, and Jacob Trapp and Cory Gentner all posted one win in doubles.
WOOSTER PUMMELS CARSON GIRLS
RENO - Wooster knocked off the Carson girls, 13-5, sending the Senators to 2-4 for the season.
Katy Breedng was the only double winner for the Senators, while Lizzie Flansberg (6-4), Ellise McGowan (7-6), and the doubles tandem of Greta Sturm and Amanda Breen won 6-3.
Carson plays at South Tahoe on Tuesday.
GOLF
Dayton girls finish seventh
SOUTH LAKE TAHOE - Dayton High's girls golf team finished seventh in the recent IA golf tournament.
Lowry won the event with a 371. Dayton's score was 484.
Taylor Ingersoll shot 99, her first sub-100 round of her career. Kassandra Acosta shot 116, Elena Watts 131 and Samantha Cassinelli 149.
