Q: What are your favorite sports and why?

A: My favorite sports are cross country and track, because they are both individual sports. and they allow me to push my limits as an athlete and my abilities as a runner.


Q: Who is your favorite professional athlete and why?

A: My favorite athlete is Galen Rupp the current American record holder for the 10,000 meters. He is an amizing athlete who got to where he is today through training and never giving up.


Q: How do you feel about drug/alcohol testing at the high school level? Should it be random or should everybody on a team be tested at least once during the season?

A: I think everyone should be drug and alcohol tested at least once during the season.


Q: If you saw a teammate using drugs or alcohol, what would you do? Would you talk to him about it or turn him into the coach?

A: If i saw a teammate using drugs or alcohol I would confront them myself because all my teammate's are close friends of mine and i am confortable telling them to knock it off; but if the continued i wouldn't hesitate to tell our coach.


Q: The Olympics just ended. How much of the coverage did you watch and what sport did you enjoy watching the most and why?

A: I only watched the track and field events in the Olympics and I thought the distance events were the best, such as the 800, 1500, 5,000 and the 10,000 because I have competed in those events. I knew how it felt to run those races, so watching the best athletes in the world race each other was amazing.


Q: Do you have any hobbies, and if so, what are they?

A: Yeah, I have alot of hobbies, when im not running. I like to hike, fly fish, mountain bike, and hunt. I try to spend as much time as I can outside considering I'm in a desk at school for eight hours a day.


Q: Do you have a favorite TV show?

A: My favorite TV show would probably have to be Survivor. I think that Bear Grylls is the coolest guy ever. Wow, some of the stuff he eats, nasty


Q: What is your favorite food?

A: My favorite food is definitely beef jerky. I buy the double packs at Costco.


Q: What is the last non-academic you read?

A: I read alot of magizines like Runner's World and Field and Stream. I like to read about the things I enjoy doing to get new ideas and tips on how to improve.


Q: If you could change one thing about your high school, what would it be?

A: If I could fix one thing in my school it would be the water fountains. Half of them spill out warm water and all of them taste like drinking out of a toilet.


Q: What sport isn't offered at the high school level that you think should be?

A: I would like to see them offer steeplechase and javelin at our high school. They look fun and I really want to try them.


Q: After graduation, where do you plan to attend college and what are you looking at in terms of a major?

A: I would like to go to college at UC Davis, and I plan on becoming a radiologist which would involve up to 13 years of schooling.
