The Northern Nevada Development Authority will recognize several businesses that have expanded their operations next week during its third annual Business Recognition Dinner at the Carson Nugget on Thursday.The Bubbles, BBQ and Business Recognition Dinner will feature 11 companies that expanded last year and 16 new primary businesses that choose to locate to Northern Nevada. Nevada State Sen. James Settelmeyer will serve as guest speaker. The event is from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Thursday. The cost is $85 per person.The business expansions that will be recognized are Aloha Medicinals Inc. and SunOpta. In Mound House, Production Pattern Foundry, Inc. and in Douglas County: Artison, LLC (Minden); Killer Salsa, (Minden) and Starbucks Roasting Plant and Distribution Center (Minden.) Elsewhere: Access Pass & Design (Sparks); Agru America (Fernley); GSI Commerce (McCarran); Toys R Us (McCarran).New businesses are: Erwin Machine, Omega PowerSports, and Xogenous Ltd. In Mound House: Berken Energy; Elite Energy Systems, RCH Labs. In Dayton: Carboline. In Fallon: New Millennium Building Systems; In Douglas County: AnC Precision Machining Inc., (Gardnerville); Comfort Care Dentistry Management, LLC (Minden); HCI Sciences (Minden); Injectimed (Minden); Life Enhancement Products Inc. (Minden); Alfa Aesar (Sparks); Rice Lake Weighing Systems (Fernley); Schluter Systems, (McCarran.)The businesses have a projected economic impact of $112.8 million. Combined, they have created more than 570 jobs. By the end of 2013, that number is expected to grow to close to 2,000.
