Library offers Deep Groove music concert to promote card sign-up

Carson City Library will have a Concert on the Grass there Sept. 28, to promote and celebrate Library Card Sign-up Month.

The event, which will run from 6:30-9 p.m. that evening outside the 900 N. Roop St. library facility, will feature music by Deep Groove.

Advance information urges folks who want to attend the free concert to bring folding chairs or blankets, snacks and happy dancing feet.

Admission requires only a library card, but a library spokesperson said there will be a sign-up opportunity for those without cards even though the library won't be open then. There will be a laptop and someone to handle those seeking to sign up.

Library Card Sign-up Month is a nationwide program of the American Library Association.
