Jan Wojtowicz, 79, passed away September 17, 2012 in Carson City, Nev. Jan was born October 7, 1932 in Poland to Stanley and Adela Wojtowicz. Immigrating to the United States in 1963 he lived in Chicago, Ill. later moving to Nevada in 1978. Jan was a retired cabinet maker. He enjoyed spending time with his family and doing home improvements. He also liked working in his yard and planting a vegetable garden.
Jan was preceded in death by a son, Mitch Wojtowicz; and a son-in-law, Richard Nabicht.
He is survived by his beloved wife of fifty-seven years, Josephine; son, Henry Wojtowicz; daughter, Jeannie (the late Richard) Nabicht; daughter-in-law, Lorie (the late Mitch) Wojtowicz; grandchildren, Jasia (Tony) Beehler, Lauren Wojtowicz, Alisha Nabicht, Robert Nabicht and Henry Wojtowicz, Jr. Also, sister-in-law, Mary (George) Gornik; along with two great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
There will be a visitation at Walton's Funeral Home on Friday, September 28, 2012 starting at 4:00pm with a Rosary beginning at 5:30pm. A Funeral Mass is scheduled for Saturday, September 29, 2012 at 1:30pm in the Chapel at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church with burial to follow at Lone Mountain Cemetery.
