Rotary Club of Carson City announces Beer and Pizza Championships winners

The Rotary Club of Carson City has announced the winners of the second annual Beer and Pizza Championships hosted by the Rotary Club and High Sierra Brewing Co. The event raised more than $25,000 to assist with community projects, according to organizers.

People’s Choice winners for best beer were Great Basin Brewing Co., finishing first; Mammoth Brewing Co., second; and High Sierra Brewing Co., third.

People’s Choice winners for best pepperoni pizza were Red’s Old 395 Grill, first; Wally’s Pizza, second; and Round Table Pizza, third.

People’s Choice winners for best gourmet pizza were Wally’s Pizza, first; Round Table Pizza, second; and Papa Murphy’s, third.

Pizzeria contestants were High Sierra Brewing Co.; Little Caesars; Papa Murphy’s; Red’s Old 395 Grill; Round Table Pizza; Tombstone Tap & Grill; and Wally’s Pizza.

Brewer contestants were Big Dog’s Brewing Co.; Feisty Goat Bar serving Goose Island Beer; Goose Island Brewing Co.; Great Basin Brewing Co.; High Sierra Brewing Co.; and Mammoth Brewing Co.

Other food vendors included Casino Fandango and Garibaldi’s.
