Faith: Bible vacation schools teach God’s love

Well, it’s vacation Bible school time at our church!

Once a year we prepare for a hundred kids from all over the community. It’s hard work, requires months of planning and is exhausting for our dedicated band of volunteers.

We always wonder if it’s worth the time and the effort. But, then, all of us can tell stories of bright shining faces even years later, “Weren’t you my teacher a long time ago at Bible School?”

We all work with the hope that someday some confused or troubled adult will remember the little church where they heard stories about a God who loves them.

The Bible is filled with the importance of spiritual training for our children. “You shall teach these words diligently to your children ... Fathers, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord ... Permit the children to come to Me; do not hinder them; for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these,” (Deuteronomy 6:6-7; Ephesians 6:4; Mark 10:14).

After all, it is “From the lips of children and infants” that God has ordained praise! (Psalm 8:2).

You are invited to join the churches of Carson City in our spiritual commitment to children!
