The Carson Tahoe Health Foundation will host HopeFest 2013 from 5-8 p.m. Aug. 23.
The free outdoor concert on the grounds of the Carson Tahoe Cancer Center, at 1535 Medical Parkway, will feature Road Daddy and Mo5aic.
Admissions is free, and sales of food, drinks and raffle tickets will benefit local cancer patients.
“A cancer diagnosis comes with a great deal of anxiety, and all the unplanned expenses can be overwhelming,” said Kitty McKay, development officer for the CTH Foundation. “HopeFest raises funds to put gas in a patient’s car, a place to stay during treatment, assistance with insurance co-pays, and help with life-saving medications.”
Funds are distributed through the Carson Tahoe Cancer Resource Center.
The event raffle is sponsored by Dick Campagni’s car dealerships, which have donated the choice of a new car or $10,000 as the raffle prize. Firkin & Fox and High Sierra Brewery Co. donate the food, drinks, and beer and wine.
Attendees can support the cause by buying food and drinks, raffle tickets, and tribute flags. Concertgoers can buy items or register for the event at www.carsontahoe.com/hopefest. Registration is free and qualifies attendees for a chance to win an iPad Mini.
