Huge — Sixteen oxen groaned along Carson street yesterday carrying along to Rosser’s new building an immense section of mountain pine from the summit regions measuring sixteen feet in length, five feet nine in diameter at one end, and five feet six at the other. This huge log is to be cut up into meat blocks for Rosser’s new butcher shop.

It is said that some of the California riflemen are coming up here next week to practice at the Carson range. The boys in California are a bit afraid of the Nevada team.

The Truckee River General Electric Co. began work on the Pine Grove power line again this week. Thirty men are now busy digging holds and planting poles. The line is now at Wilson Station, some 10 miles south of Yerington.
