Jack Edward Lund passed away August 2, 2013 after a short battle with cancer. Jack was truly a man of the wilderness, with a heart as big as gold. Jack’s passions were hunting, fishing and watching his grandchildren play softball.
Jack was born in Walteria, Ca. to Alfred and Clara Lund. He was part owner of T. J. & L Construction in Torrance, Ca. In 1975, Jack and his wife, Nancy moved their family to Fallon. Jack worked for Helms construction and also Granite Construction as a cement finisher and carpenter before his retirement. He was an honorary member of the Prospectors M. C. desert racing club as well as the Torrance Rod and Gun Club. Jack was an Elk Hunting guide for many years for the Coulter Lake Guest Ranch in Rifle, Colorado. Jack never missed a hunting season; he finally stopped his long trips due to his failing health.
Jack is preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Nancy Lund; as well as a son, Jack Allen Lund. Jack is survived by his sister, Mable Huntoon of Hemet, Ca.; daughter, Jessie (Bill) Archer of Fallon; daughter, Vicki (David) Payne of Fallon; son, Kirk Lund of Fallon; son, Allen (Yvonne) Lund of Reno and Tracy Lund of Fallon; grandchildren, Kylee (Joe) Freeman of Oceana, VA, Heather Archer of Fallon, Kaysee Archer of Fallon, Angela (Kelly) Clyburn of Fallon, Veronica (Blake) Brandenburg of Fallon, Clay Erb of Reno, Savannah Lund of Fallon, also Jacy Lund; and seven great grandchildren.
Jack’s family is having a private celebration of his life per their father’s request.
