Carson City Health Department’s food-service inspections for Aug. 14. All scores are on a 100-point scale, with points deducted depending on the severity of violations:

C-A-L Ranch Stores, 2035 N. Carson St., scored 100 points.

Foodies Bystro, 449 W. King St., scored 100 points.

Plaza Hotel and Conference Center, 801 S. Carson St., scored 100 points.

San Marcos Grill, bar/lounge, 260 E. Winnie Lane, scored 100 points.

Sushi Delight, 111 E. Telegraph St., scored 100 points.

Olive Garden, 4253 S. Carson St., scored 99 points. A minor refuse spill was found near the Dumpster in the waste management area.

Snack Right Vending, 3650 Research Way, Suite 25, scored 99 points. There were no monitoring thermometers in the freezers where potentially hazardous foods were being stored.

San Marcos Grill, 260 E. Winnie Lane, scored 98 points. The drainage slope around the Dumpster area did not allow for adequate removal of standing water. The florescent lighting cover above the dishwasher was loose and could cause an injury if it were to fall.

The Cracker Box, 402 E. William St., scored 98 points. Food stored in refrigerators and freezers not stored in original containers were not labeled and dated. The storage racks in the walk in cooler were soiled with food debris.

Holiday Inn Express, 4055 N. Carson St., scored 96 points. Three compartment sink discharge pipes extended into the floor drain below ground level.

Arco am/pm, 1017 N. Carson St., scored 91 points. Unlabeled and undated chicken strips were found in the reach-in cooler. Ice for sale packed in this location must be properly labeled or identified with an accompanying sign, stating that it was packed for sale at this location. Beverage air food refrigerator was operating at 45 degrees. Frozen cookie dough in the reach-in freezer was not properly wrapped or sealed to prevent possible contamination. The rear storage and work areas of the facility were poorly organized and boxes were noted everywhere. There was not a certified food handler on duty.

Yang’s Kitchen, 111 E. Telegraph St., scored 81 points. A container of sliced beef was found with an internal temperature of 68 degrees in the back preparation sink. Dishwasher rinse water does not have a detectable chlorine residual. Two out of three hand wash sinks were obstructed and without functioning paper towel dispensers. Approved food items outside of original containers were labeled and dated. A rice scoop was stored in water from earlier in the day. A home style crock pot was found in the kitchen. An outdoor grease barrel had excess grease waste on top of the lid. Walls behind the preparation sink were soiled with dirt and food debris.
