Two Carson City men were arrested on meth-related counts Wednesday evening.
According to a Sheriff’s Office arrest report:
A deputy went to a home in the 2400 block of Oak Ridge Drive about 7 p.m. to serve a failure-to-pay-child-support warrant on Stephen Charles Wilhoite, 47.
The deputy saw Wilhoite in the home’s yard along with another man, Dennis Lee, 44. After the deputy identified himself, Wilhoite ran to the passenger door of a nearby 1999 Dodge Ram and reached inside, ignoring several commands to stop.
The deputy handcuffed him and suspected he was trying to hide something near the floorboard. The deputy found about 1 gram of methamphetamine there.
After Lee consented to a search of the vehicle, the deputy found about 2 more grams of meth, a billy club and two glass meth pipes.
Wilhoite was arrested on suspicion of felony possession of a controlled substance and obstructing a peace officer, as well as on the warrant. Bail was set at $10,000. Lee was arrested on suspicion of felony possession of a controlled substance, possession of a dangerous weapon and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail was set at $2,500.
Both remained in the Carson City Jail on Thursday.
