Obituary: Linda Wenzel

June 26, 1945 - August 19, 2013

Linda Wenzel, born June 26, 1945, of Carson City, Nevada, passed away on August 19, 2013.

Linda had a variety of careers which provided her much enjoyment. Three she talked of the most with fond memories were Hodges Transportation (where she met her husband Don); a partner in S & W Painting (with Cliff Satterfield) and her favorite ‘career’ which begin in 1994, a full-time Grandma.

Linda is survived by her husband, Don (together 42 years); daughters, Melissa Costa (Kevin), Debbie Wenzel and Danielle Hafeman (Timm); grandchildren, Steven Costa, Desiree Wenzel and Mikel and Dixxie Hafeman; sister, Sue Cocking (Chris), brother and sister-in-law, Garry and Dolores Wenzel; nephews, Michael Wenzel, Shane Cocking and Daniel Cocking; nieces, Lori Wenzel and Jodee Hall; several great- nieces and nephews; and family by choice daughter, Danielle (Dave) Wallace and daughter and grandchildren, Dalania, Tamara and Robert (Jr.) Meinen and Shayna Summers. Linda loved having an inviting home for her children’s friends and to this day, there are many calling her mom or grandma.

Linda is preceded in death by her parents, Steven and Anne Sykes, David and Margaret Heigh and in-laws, Harold and Hazel Wenzel.

No formal services will be held; the family will have a Celebration of Life on September 2, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Ross Gold Park in Carson City.
